Registration for the 2020-21 Season

Registration details will be updated as they become available, following OMHA's Return to Hockey protocols.

At this time, we encourage any players interested in registering for hockey to complete our online Pre-Registration form.

Season Structure:

  • There will be no formal leagues this season, at any level (no local leagues, rep leagues)
  • Teams will be limited to nine skaters plus one goalie; there will be no movement of players between teams (that is, no Affiliating to other teams)
  • Weekly practices will take place, using physical distancing as much as possible; to keep registration costs reasonable, there will often be two teams on the ice for practices - whenever possible, these will be teams from within the same division, so that combined practices can take place if the coaches so choose
  • Either 3-on-3 or 4-on-4 games will be scheduled; "bubbles", comprised of a maximum of five teams will be created at each age division, in coordination with other centres within the Southwestern Public Health Unit (such as Tavistock, Embro, and/or Norwich)
  • All players, coaches, and families are expected to follow posted procedures for use of arena facilities - further details will be provided to those who have pre-registered

Registration Fees for 2020-2021 Season

For all registrations:

Volunteer Fee - This additional fee is mandatory and payable every year. The volunteer fee of $100 is charged once per family, regardless of how many children you register.

PDMHA relies on its parents/guardians for so much! Volunteers make up coaching staff, team managers and trainers, parent reps, and help the Association run events - this year, we will also be looking for parent volunteers to help with player participant tracking sheets and possibly running the timeclock. We hope that instead of letting PDMHA keep your volunteer fee, the amount is enough that people will decide to get involved. PDMHA doesn't want to keep your $100, we need you to come on out and volunteer!  Those who do will have their volunteer fee refunded at the end of the season, or be provided with a credit to put towards next year's registration!

Fundraising Fee - PDMHA has decided to remove the mandatory $150/family fundraising fee, for the 2020-21 season, as conducting the selling of raffle tickets is not reasonable in the current pandemic-climate.

Player Fees – Player registration fees are according to age division, and are given in the table below:

2020-21 Age Division  Registration Fee
+ Volunteer/Fundraising

  U7 - Initiation/Development (born '14, '15, '16, '17) ***       $380        + $250/family  $100/family
  U8 - Minor Novice (born '13) ***       $425
  U9 - Novice (born '12) ***       $450
  U11 - Atom (born '10, '11) ***       $500
  U13 - Peewee (born '08, '09) ***       $500
  U15 - Bantam (born '06, '07)       $525
  U18 - Midget (born '03, '04, '05)       $525

Registration Notes:
*** New Player Incentive:  Any new player registering with PDMHA for peewee division and below, who has never registered with an organized minor hockey association previously, will be offered a discounted rate of only $250 for registration!  So now is the time to try this wonderful team sport!  (does not apply to players transferring from another centre; volunteer fees are still applicable)

Registration fees for the third (and fourth, etc.) child within one family unit are 1/2 price!  Only one discount per child will be applied (either the third child 1/2 price discount OR the new player discount rate).

If current Return-to-Play restrictions are loosened later in the season, PDMHA reserves the right to request payment of additional fees, to cover any additional costs incurred associated with league games.

PDMHA's Registration and Refund policies can be found here.

Registration Steps for New Players:

Complete our online Pre-Registration form; you will also need to provide a copy of the player's birth certificate.

Once we have the player pre-registered, you will need to complete the online "Respect in Sport - Parent Program", as mandated by OMHA - no player will be allowed to be rostered to a minor hockey team until at least one parent/guardian has completed the course. The course is accessed at: http://www.omha.net/page/show/885515-education , takes approximately one hour to complete, and costs $12-$15. When signing in to the course, there will be a spot to indicate your child(ren)'s name. Once finished, please save a copy of the Certificate and provide the certificate number to Tina Balfour (see above).

Registration Steps for Transfer Players:

If you are transferring from another minor hockey association, then you will need to contact our OMHA Rep, Tina Balfour, to submit the required documentation.

Waiting Lists:

With team rosters for 2020-21 currently restricted to 9 skaters plus 1 goalie, registrations received after September 1st may be put on a waiting list.  We will be doing our best to accommodate all players wanting to register for the season.
