Get involved! Open Board & Coaching Positions for 2019-2020
Submitted By Tina Balfour on Mon 05 27, 19
PDMHA is looking for individuals who want to see our organization continue to grow and improve, keeping hockey a strong part of our small town community.

Interested in coaching?  Or in being a member on the Board of Directors?  Let us know before June 3rd, so that we can start the planning process for the 2019-2020 season!

Coaching Staff

To apply for a head coach position, complete and submit the online Coaching Application form, or print the form.

Interested in being part of the coaching staff, but maybe not quite ready for a head coach role?  Contact our coach mentor to let him know, to ask any questions about qualifications, or to discuss options.

Board of Directors

After the AGM, we still have the following positions open on the Board of Directors.  Indicate your interest in any of the positions by completing this form  - all positions remain open until the next scheduled Board meeting (Mon. June 3rd), at which time the outgoing Board members will select/vote to fill the positions.  Any questions connected to any of the positions, or about being a member of the Board, please don't hesitate to contact Tina ([email protected]).

All Board members are expected to attend regular meetings (usually once a month); each of these positions have voting rights at meetings.

Being a league representative or member-at-large are great "entry-level" positions to become involved in running our organization!

Southern Counties League Representative, 2 year term - Main responsibilities include being the liaison between the league and PDMHA, attending league meetings (once a month; mileage reimbursed), entering game scores online for all PDMHA rep/ae teams, ensuring our coaches are aware of league rules.

Grand River Local League Representative, 2 year term - Main responsibilities include being the liaison between the league and PDMHA, attending league meetings (only 3 or 4 during the season, have been in Plattsville for last few years), entering game scores online for all PDMHA local league teams, ensuring our coaches are aware of league rules.

Initiation Program Coordinator, 2 year term - Lead the planning and implementation of the organization's development plan for our youngest players, encouraging and mentoring new parents who want to help with these groups, ensuring Hockey Canada's rules are followed, promoting fun, respect, and skill improvement for the players.

Chief Referee, 2 year term - Uses the online system to schedule referees for all home games (and possibly provide ref crews to other centres for OMHA Playdown games), ensures referees have the required qualifications, maintains accurate records and provides monthly pay schedules to the treasurer, addresses concerns related to referees, and is the liaison with league referee-in-chiefs.

Members-at-Large,  3 positions available, each a 1 year term - Attend meetings, provide input and feedback, help during association events when possible.
